  • GDR! Works not in Opera 7.23 :( But the new design is cool anyway.
  • Nikos New design is cool! Complete archive script doesn't work.
  • DiLA http://www.ryano.net/iraq/?732817
  • baze wohoo, great design :>
  • MathM Awesome ! O_O
  • Optimus The 256b tiny intro scene is ALIVE!!!
  • insomniac the design is fabolous p01 \o/
  • Intrinsic Hey PO1m i have the 256b logo down to 246b from 405b if you want it ;p http://members.lycos.co.uk/intrinsic27/logo.png
  • P01 Oh, thank you. hum, how did you shrinked it to that size ?
  • Intrinsic 1st i saved out the GIF with IrfanView setting the transparence colour. Then i used a program called pngout with a custom block size to shrink it even furthur. Just thought i's get the logo at 256b or under ;p
  • P01 doh! I was stuck with pngcrush. Now the logo takes 256bytes
  • Tyler Durden Hi, can you please change my site adress to http://www.tylerdurden.net.ru/ and email to 256b@tylerdurden.net.ru ? :) (just for counter logs)
  • Intrinsic pngcrush is superb on 24bit images, but pngout is better at 8bit and under. pngout page: http://advsys.net/ken/utils.htm done by the guy who wrong the 3d engines for Duke Nukem etc. I've done my own brute force script that i can post for u if you want....
  • P01 Tyler: done / Intrinsic: thank you. You mean a brute force script to test a huge load of settings with pngout ?
  • Intrinsic Yeah, it tries out 34 different block sizes. I mainly did it to find out if certain block sizes worked best on images of certain sizes. It's setup atm to suite images of upto 640x512ish. Bigger images sometimes like large block sizes, but sometimes not :)
  • Tyler Durden Btw. who decided how many "stars" deserves this or that intro ? (e.g. my Deep Blue took 3 stars, and my plasma intro 4, but at 7d4 deep blue on the 1st place, but Plasma on the second...)
  • P01 the number of stars is set by those who submit the prods, but when I notice a one with an odd number I correct it based on the : originality, technicity, visual quality, optimization, number of features ... of the prod. It's a subjective, but what isn't ?
  • Tyler Durden Ok. But where is ols "downloads count" and "votes" ?
  • P01 if you want to start a real discussion and question each and every point of the site, you'd better use the contact form ( http://www.256b.com/contact.php ) ; )
  • Moshroum CSS an XHTML rulez formely known as we dont like internet explorer (or ie dont like us) formely known as we hate tables in tables in tables in tables.....
  • Tyler Durden could you add avatars support ?
  • Intrinsic Avatars would require user registration, which would require more disk space and bandwidth which would then increase the costs to run :) we have no need of them atm imo.
  • gr0 Good looking new webpage, but the old one was very well done, too. Don't overdo it with the 3D effects though.
  • amd Duh... it's not working for opera :(
  • P01 >__< the stylesheet is fixed for Opera ( tested with the v7.50 )

  • Complete archive back ( at last )

It took 5 months, but I've received the message. Let's put the delay on the count of a new job + some freelance work + more professional contacts + some extreme boredom to touch a code that was working perfectly until the host changed the settings and rights with no warning.2005-06-05 by P01

  • Recent problems

As many of you saw, there's been some problems recently with the downloads. I was away for almost a month for the birth of my nephew when the host of http://www.256b.com had no better idea than changing the configuration of PHP. Therefore all the prods with an ID above 402 are not available. Btw, I received 2800+ mails of errors and a handfull of inmates noticed me the bug too. I'll fix that as soon as possible. Meanwhile, happy new year!2005-01-02 by P01

  • Page titles, new skin and other minor changes

One thing bugged me since a while : the title of the prods did not appear in the title of the pages. That thing is fixed. Adding a wildcard in the SEARCH input is not longer mandatory. Some minor things have changed in the XHTML/CSS. And I made a new skin for the site. Your feedback is welcome.2004-11-28 by P01

  • Improvement of the search feature

Wildcards have been enabled in the SEARCH feature. You can use * or ? like anywhere else. At least that's a significant improvement until I code the Advanced Search feature to allow the search on any field ( name, coder, year, group, ... ).2004-10-21 by P01

  • Hello CPC

256b.com welcomes its first Amstrad CPC intro. It's called "a bouncing pixel" ( http://www.256b.com/demo/463 ). You'll find the URL of an emulator in the LINKS sections and will btw see the new button I made for pouet.net few days ago.2004-10-18 by P01
